Hajj

Hajj packages

We work on both government and private quota. The rate turns on the quota, the airfare and your category at Mina, so we will not print one number here and give you the wrong idea. Booking is open and seats are limited.

Two routes

Government or private quota

They differ in cost, in timeline and in how much choice you get. Neither is the right answer for everybody.

  • Haj Committee of India

    Government Quota

Allotted through the Haj Committee, with its own application window and its own timeline. Usually the lower cost of the two.

    • Applications open on the Committee's schedule, not ours
    • Selection is by the Committee, including by draw when applications exceed the quota
    • We help with the application, documents and preparation
  • Through licensed operators

    Private Quota

Allotted to registered private tour operators. More flexibility on hotels, category and dates, at a higher rate.

    • More choice of hotel and Mina category
    • Confirmed earlier than the Committee route, in most years
    • Rate depends on the category and the year

The rites

The five days, in order

Hajj is not a long Umrah. It is a fixed sequence across specific days in specific places, and knowing the order in advance is most of the preparation.

  1. 8 Dhul Hijjah

    Mina

Ihram from your hotel, then to Mina for the night. Five prayers there, no rituals beyond that.

  2. 9 Dhul Hijjah

    Arafat

The day of Arafat, standing from noon until sunset. Then to Muzdalifah after Maghrib, and the night in the open.

  3. 10 Dhul Hijjah

    Mina & Makkah

Stoning of the Jamarat al-Aqabah, sacrifice, head shaved or trimmed, then tawaf al-ifadah.

  4. 11–12 Dhul Hijjah

    Mina

Stoning all three pillars each afternoon. Leave before sunset on the 12th, or stay for the 13th.

  5. After

    Makkah & Madinah

Tawaf al-wada before you leave Makkah, and for most groups a stay in Madinah either side.

How it works

What happens after you call

  1. 1

    Talk to us early

Both routes have windows that close. The Committee's opens on its own schedule; private quota fills. Register interest and we will tell you when yours opens.

  2. 2

    Documents and application

Passport, photographs, vaccination and the forms for whichever route you take. We check everything before it is filed.

  3. 3

    Confirmation and payment

Once allotted, we confirm the category, the hotels and the Mina tent, and the balance schedule in writing.

  4. 4

    Training, then travel

Hajj has five days of rites in a fixed order. You get the free training session before you fly, not a leaflet at the airport.

Ask us for this year’s rates

Tell us the size of your family and which route you are considering, and we will explain both against your situation. There is no charge for the conversation.
